El Carlisle (she/her) comes to Hierarchy Performance from New York and California. El’s CrossFit journey started in February of 2019 after a lifetime of inconsistent nutrition and exercise as she was pushed to focus more on school than her health. El realized that it was time to make a lifestyle change in college realizing that the only thing standing between her and her goals was her lack of consistency in the gym and fueling her body. She chose to start CrossFit in February to ensure that joining CrossFit was a lifestyle change as opposed to a New Year’s resolution. She started taking the 4:15 AM classes while continuing to work and finish her bachelor’s degrees. El enjoyed the diversity of training CrossFit offered and became more consistent, eventually training in CrossFit and Barbell 6-days a week, training for races, and unofficially starting her gym’s Run Club. In 2021 she was accepted into a master’s program in New York City and decided it was time to get her CrossFit Level 1 certification so she could train while in school. Early in her coaching tenure members came to her with nutrition concerns and cultures derived from diet culture that harmed their bodies like ones she experienced growing up. She decided to obtain her Nutrition Coaching Certification to help her members learn new habits. She also received her USA Weightlifting Coaching Level 1. El moved to DC in July of 2023 to pursue her PhD in Justice, Law, and Criminology at American University. Her favorite CrossFit workout is DT, and enjoys pole, open water swimming, and krav maga.
